About TTFI

TTFI Board Meeting

Our Mission & Vision

The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) was established in 1928 and is affiliated to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Our mission is to develop and promote table tennis across India, from grassroots to elite levels.

We organize national championships, zonal tournaments, and coaching camps. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all players, regardless of age, gender, or background. TTFI also focuses on training coaches, technical officials, and developing infrastructure.

Under the leadership of President Mr. Dushyant Chautala and Secretary General Mr. M.P. Singh, TTFI has implemented strategic plans to enhance India's position in international table tennis. Our vision is to make India a top-five table tennis nation by 2028.

Coaching & Development

Coaching Certification Programs

TTFI, in collaboration with ITTF, offers coaching certification programs to develop qualified coaches across India. Our programs follow international standards and are conducted by ITTF-certified tutors.

  • ITTF Level 1 Coaching Course: Basic course for beginners, focusing on fundamentals and basic tactics.
  • ITTF Level 2 Coaching Course: Advanced course for coaches working with competitive players.
  • ITTF Level 3 High Performance Course: Elite course for coaches working with national and international level players.
  • TTFI Referee & Umpire Courses: Training programs for technical officials.

National Training Camps

TTFI organizes regular national training camps for various age groups at Sports Authority of India (SAI) centers. These camps are conducted by national and foreign coaches to prepare players for international competitions.

Historic Bronze at Asian Games 2023

The Indian men's table tennis team created history by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The team comprising Sharath Kamal, G. Sathiyan, Harmeet Desai, and Manush Shah defeated higher-ranked opponents to secure India's first men's team medal in 60 years at the Asian Games.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Indian table tennis and reflects the success of TTFI's long-term development programs. The team displayed exceptional resilience, particularly in the quarterfinals against Singapore where they came back from 0-2 down to win 3-2.

TTFI Signs MOU with Sports Ministry for Khelo India

The Table Tennis Federation of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to expand table tennis under the Khelo India program. This partnership will establish 50 new table tennis academies across rural and semi-urban areas over the next three years.

The initiative aims to identify and nurture talent from a young age, providing coaching, equipment, and competition opportunities. TTFI will oversee the technical aspects, including coach training and curriculum development, while the Sports Ministry will provide infrastructure and funding support.

New Anti-Doping Education Program Launched

5 November 2023 | TTFI Medical Commission

TTFI, in collaboration with the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), has launched a comprehensive anti-doping education program for players, coaches, and support staff. The program includes workshops, online modules, and resource materials to ensure all stakeholders understand their responsibilities regarding clean sport.

Starting January 2024, all players participating in national championships must complete the anti-doping certification. TTFI President emphasized, "Clean sport is non-negotiable. We are committed to educating our athletes and protecting the integrity of table tennis in India."
